Refresher courses

The NORM X Symposium has succeeded in attracting well known international scientists, regulators, and managers to present during the Symposium a Refresher Course about their work and experiences related to NORM. All Refresher Courses will start at 07:15 AM and end at 08:15 AM, before the official NORM X Symposium program starts. All courses can be attended by participants of the NORM X Symposium free from additional costs and participants will receive a certificate of each participated course, which can be used for accreditation points.

The Refresher courses are broadly grouped into the following three groups:

  1. Building an Operational Radiation Protection Program. Including the following refresher courses:
  • Tuesday 10 May 2022. Regulatory Framework for the Safe Management of NORM – from Regulations to Implementation, “International recommendations and European requirements”. The lecturers of this course are Burçin Okyar (IAEA) and Mr. Stefan Mundigl (European Commission).   1. Public exposure from NORM discharges, assessment of environmental risk and Communication hereon. Including the following refresher courses:

  1. NORM Metrology and sampling, NORM decommissioning and dismantling case studies and safe management of waste. Including the following refresher courses:
